It’s throwback Thursday! Lets go back to the time we felt proud because of heroes and sheroes in our society.
Do you remember the Fire in Lake Homes Apartment in Powai, Mumbai?
Read this media coverage to know more.
More than 5 people died trying to save lives of others trapped in the fire at Lake Homes Building in Powai, Mumbai, early in June 2015. These heroes were electricians and staff working in the building. Their families did not have enough money to reach Mumbai from their native places and carry out the last ritual.
We keep reading such news in the media and generally the news in yesterday’s papers are lying in today’s dustbins. Jayshree Gupta thought differently. She approached Townscript to create a Fundraising Event for all these heroes who could not survive trying to evacuate other people stuck in the fire.
She created a link on Townscript and started sharing it among her friends and social groups. Supporting her in the noble cause, we started sharing the link among our networks too.
All her efforts led to raising INR 95,000 in funds.
We were pleasantly surprised with Townscript being used for such a noble cause, and in such a different manner. Inspired by her cause, we are working towards making Fundraising even easier on Townscript. You can raise funds to support a cause easily in 2 steps:
1. Create your Fundraising Event
You just need to sign up and click on create event. Enter all the basic info about your fundraising cause and when you see Tickets in the process, just select Donation in Ticket Type. This is also where you add info about yourself including Bank account details.
2. Start Accepting Donations
After you have made your fundraising event live, this is how it will appear to people who want to donate (when they click on Donate):
They can enter the amount they want to donate and make an online payment which will be quickly cleared to the fundraiser’s account.
Don’t flinch from supporting a cause. If you want to raise a fund, we have got your back.
